HTC One Android 4.4 KitKat update released for U.S. Unlocked and Developer editions
Good news, HTC One owners in the USA, the handset is ready to receive its Android 4.4 KitKat update, although only certain versions of the phone will get it right away.
The company announced via its U.S. Twitter account that the Unlocked and Developer Edition versions of the HTC One are ready to receive the KitKat update with Sense on top, which means that carrier versions – and the phone is available from various carriers in the region including AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon – will be upgraded at a later date.
Considering that the HTC One Google Play edition handset has already received its KitKat update, it only makes sense to see HTC eager to update more versions of its flagship device, especially those that it can update without waiting for approval from carriers.
HTC was one of the first Android device makers to announce KitKat rollout plans for some of its devices, revealing that the HTC One will get the Android 4.4 by the end of January, at least in some regions. In the same note, HTC said that the Google Play edition of the HTC One will get the update in late November, and the company certainly kept its word on that promise.
Have you received the KitKat update for your HTC One Unlocked and/or Developer Edition model?
