Android 4.4.1 is now rolling out to the Nexus 5

 
Earlier today we reported that Android 4.4.1 would be rolling out to the Nexus 5 over the next few days. Well, that was a quick wait: the rollout has now officially begun begun!
As expected, the update primarily focuses on improving the camera experience through a refreshed camera app that will include HDR+ mode. The new camera app promises faster focusing especially in low light, faster white balancing, truer colors and even the ability to pinch-zoom the viewfinder in HDR+ mode. Even the app itself is said to load about a second quicker than the previous version.
Aside from camera improvements, what else is new in Android 4.4.1? Google has yet to detail all the changes, but interestingly enough there are several reports coming in from Nexus 5 users that suggest that the Nexus 5’s speaker is noticeably louder after the update. Considering KitKat was known to have a few minor bugs, it’s likely this update addressed some of these issues as well.
